Do you have a passion for helping communities thrive? And do you have 3-10 years full-time work experience in the water sector, including some experience with public utilities? Then you should apply for TWLA!
Through a combination of distance learning and in-person gatherings, the program will focus on the fundamentals of sustainable community leadership. This select, diverse cohort of early-career water professionals will learn, work, and grow together for 10 months. TWLA will prepare them to take on influential leading roles at water utilities.
This initiative, co-led by the American Water Works Association and Waternow Alliance, is sponsored in part by WRA member AECOM. “AECOM is proud to support the Transformative Water Leadership Academy,” said Chris Curran, WRA Board Member and Vice President, Project Director AECOM. “The Academy aligns with our Sustainable Legacies initiative and our commitment to grow future water industry leaders across all sector functions – from engineering and operations to administration and management. It was inspiring to hear from the cohort members and see the work they’ve done on their capstone projects. The future of our industry is bright under their leadership.”
WRA is spearheading an initiative to promote water sector workforce development in the Delaware River Basin. One of our first tasks is to map existing programs, of which there are many! We will be sharing what we learn as we go. If you are part of a workforce development program/initiative in the Delaware River Basin, please get in touch ed@wradrb.org.
