Buzzi Memorial Scholarship Fund

The Buzzi Scholarship is awarded annually to a high school senior in the Delaware River Basin who demonstrates outstanding achievement, and is pursuing a field of study critical to water resources.

In 2003, the Water Resources Association of the Delaware River Basin (WRA) established the John L Buzzi Memorial Scholarship Fund to honor the late Dr. John L. Buzzi (1936-2003), a former chairman of WRA and member of the Board of Directors who was a highly respected and greatly admired water resource engineering professional, and a dedicated community leader within and outside the Delaware River Basin. WRA is pleased to announce the availability of $1,000 in scholarship funds for the purpose of educating an aspiring water resources student.

ELIGIBILITY

The applicant must be a high senior residing within the Delaware River Basin who will attend a properly accredited junior college, college, or university in the Fall of 2024. Applicants must also have an interest in issues related to water resources. Immediate family members of WRA’s Board of Directors are not eligible.

SELECTION CRITERIA

The scholarship will be awarded to a student qualified by academic performance, who exhibits an interest in a water resource and environmental issue(s) and solutions and is also involved in the community. Measures of academic performance include a respectable cumulative GPA for grades ten through twelve and a statement of career goals.
