For his contributions, accomplishments, leadership and community service during an illustrious career as a professional consulting engineer to the standards exemplified by the former Philadelphia Water Commissioner, Samuel S. Baxter

Government Award

Philadelphia Water Department Green City, Clean Waters Program
For their investment in green infrastructure and other innovative cost-savings strategies to manage stormwater while meeting the requirements of the National CSO Control Policy as part of a larger Integrated Watershed Management Planning Program

Business & Industry Award

United Water Delaware Aquifer Storage and Recovery Project
For an innovative, technology-based and sustainable solution to meet area water needs by injecting treated surface water into underground storage for use in times of drought

Dr. Ruth Patrick Excellence in Education Award

DuPont Environmental Education Center
For innovative environmental and watershed education programs offered at the new DuPont Environmental Education Center “Where the City, River and Marsh Meet” and supported by a unique partnership between the DuPont Company, Delaware Nature Society, Riverfront Development Corporation of Delaware, and Delaware Department of Natural Resources and Environmental Control

Achievement Award George Kunkel P.E.
For his leadership and commitment as a member of the WRA community in promoting and advancing the AWWA water accountability concept for use by government and water utilities within the Delaware River Basin and nationwide to improve efficiency of utility operations and reduce water loss

Special Recognition Award
The Landis Sewerage Authority and the City of Vineland, New Jersey
For their innovation in funding and implementing green infrastructure and sustainability projects at the Authority’s wastewater treatment facility in Vineland, New Jersey
